In a significant event for Peruvian foreign trade, Minister Desilú León Chempén granted the Peru Brand license to Cosco Shipping Ports Chancay Perú S.A., the company responsible for the Chancay Megaport. This port, located in the province of Huaral, Lima region, aims to become the main hub for port connections in the South Pacific, offering a direct maritime route to the Asian continent.
Minister Leon stressed the importance of this milestone, highlighting that the delivery of the Peru Brand license to Cosco Shipping Ports Chancay Peru, just one month after the inauguration of the port, underscores the government’s commitment to the development of trade and investment in the country.
“The Chancay megaport presents great opportunities for Peru’s international trade. Its modernity, technology and good connectivity will facilitate the mobilization of goods and will allow us to bring our products closer to the great Asian and world markets. I believe there is no better occasion to express how important it will be to make joint efforts, from the public and private sectors, to take advantage of all these opportunities and consolidate the presence of Peruvian products in competitive markets”, said Minister León Chempén.
Obtaining the Peru Brand license allows Cosco Shipping Ports Chancay Peru to join the select group of companies that are part of the Licensees Program of Mincetur and Promperu. This program aims to promote Peru’s image internationally, boosting tourism, exports and attracting investment. Currently, 837 companies and individuals hold this distinction.
